Safety

1. Walking alone:
Do not walk alone in isolated areas, not even in broad daylight.

2. Car Park:
Walk to your car with your finger on the alarm button of your car remote control. If you see any suspicious person approaching, press the alarm. As soon as you enter your car, lock all the doors and drive off immediately. Do not use your phone or check your makeup.

3. ATM:
Do not use an isolated ATM. It is better to take out money from an ATM in a bank or in a shopping mall. When you take out money, do not count it as this will be observed by any suspicious character nearby.

4 Taxi: Inside the taxi, call your relative or friend to say that you are in a taxi giving the taxi number. Make sure that the driver hears what you say.

5.In your house:
Install a house alarm and lock up every door and window. Do not take phone calls from strangers. Sleep with your car remote control beside you. If you hear any noise in your house compound, press the button to activate your car alarm.

6. Bag snatcher:
Use a small plastic bag to hold your IC, bank book and money and put it in your front pocket. Do not carry your handbag so that it is facing the road. If it is snatched, do not attempt to hang onto it. It is not worthwhile to be dragged along and be injured badly.

7. Cell phone:
Do not put important phone numbers in your cell phone. If it gets stolen, the thief might immediately sms your spouse to say that the pin number of your bank account is needed for urgent withdrawal of money from a bank account.

8. Vehicle breakdown:
If it breaks down due to a mechanical fault or due to some hanky-panky in a rest-stop, do not use any assistance from an unkown person.
Phone the PLUS emergency number 1-800-88-0000. PLUS will provide tow service free of charge to a nearby authorised car-repair shop.

9. GPS:
Do not put your home address in the GPS in your vehicle. If your vehicle is stolen, the thief knows where you stay and you will probably get a visit from this culprit when you are not at home. Put your address for example as a nearby gas station.
