Ayer Itam
Visit Kek Lok Si Temple in Ayer Itam during the Chinese New Year when it is lighted up with 12,000 lanterns and 250,000 electric lights. The pavilion, just above the main building, has the tallest Goddess of Mercy statue in South East Asia. You can drive up to the Pavilion. Further up the temple is the Ayer Itam Dam where folks take a brisk walk in the evening. Not far away is Penang Hill which offers a good view of George Town.
