Sandy As we walked one day on the beach We noticed a cute, little bitch Her fur was white and brown And she waddled like a clown She was just a pitiful stray So we took her back that day She slept at night in a box In a corner of the porch She loved to eat whatever we gave She'd complain whenever it was late Thus she quickly became quite fat Passersby would say "Look at that!" So we decided to reduce her intake That really made her lose weight As a result she appeared quite slim But hunger also made her look grim We opened the gate to go out Without warning she dashed out When we came back late at night We were shocked by a frightful sight Our dog was lying in the rain And she was yelping in pain A car had hit her accidentally Her left leg was broken and bloody She could only hobble about And looked as if she had gout She used to chase after any cat Now she couldn't do that She just looked at them quietly As they passed her by disdainfully Just before her tenth birthday Sandy passed away |
